Part of the Northern Colorado Deliberative Journalism Project

About Us

The Northern Colorado Deliberative Journalism Project began as a collaboration between the CSU Center for Public Deliberation, the Journalism and Mediated Communication and Political Science departments at Colorado State University, and the Fort Collins Coloradoan. Since its start in the fall of 2021, the collaboration has grown, and now includes the CSU Languages, Literatures, and Cultures department, the Honors Program, CSU Student Media Corporation, the Poudre River Library District, the League of Women Voters, KUNC, KRFC, the North 40, and FC Public Media.

The goal of the project is to encourage, moderate and learn from conversations among community members, about issues that affect the Fort Collins and Northern Colorado communities. By hosting live and online conversations, the media outlets and journalism class involved with the project intend to develop and publish content related directly to those issues, and highlighting our community members. Video from the initial launch of the CPD is below.
